Today's TWO is the final in our birthday celebrations and it seemed fitting that it should be by Studio Makgill.
Founded by my husband, Hamish Makgill, Studio Makgill works with businesses large and small. They focus on the creation of brand identities and all forms of visual communication.
Their philosophy is simple, innovate beautiful designs, that last, that inspire and that enable their clients to realise their ambitions.
Their clients include Its Nice That, Nike, Boxpark, H Furniture and G.F. Smith to name just a few.
They create minimalist packaging with eye catching design that comes from a deeper philosophy and understanding of the brand.
Studio Makgill specialises in design for print, something often said to be dead in the face of digital, but Hamish disagrees.
He sees print as an essential part of the design world and thinks there will always be a need to touch and smell and believe in the real things such as paper.
Statistics made wearable. Here's the first item of Studio Makgill's product line called The Good Modern.
It's a pin badge that depicts a pie chart of the music listened to in the studio.
Available at Popsicle.
I feel very fortunate that Hamish created the identity for Popsicle.
WE think its a perfect fit.
Our stickers catch everyones eye,
its that attention to detail that helps to create a unique brand.
Todays Two is designed and handmade by the gorgeous Olivia Bullock aka YOKE.
Olivia Bullock is a Lewes based artist and illustrator. Her work draws inspiration from a broad spectrum of historical cultural references as well as contemporary influences from personal experience as a former fashion illustrator.
Olivia's work is entirely hand painted, using a combination of gouache and watercolour on paper, which is then cut out and assembled to create a multi layered collage.
We Love, love, love her special TWO she did for us, you can see how she layers her pieces with beautiful texture and colour.
Super Science 2015
Olivia often uses pop culture to add a real and humorous feel to her work. For example checkout the adidas tracksuit and Birkenstock sandals on the piece above.
Much of her inspiration is gathered from legends, stories, history and traditions. Her invented beasts, masked beings, dysfunctional and ridiculous characters occupy a captivating, and brilliant mythological world.
Ceremonial from Super Science 2015
Her characters often have no emotional presence or identity and are often hidden from view, leaving your imagination to fill the gaps.
Olivia did the artwork for Steve Masons latest Album pictured above called 'Meet the Humans' for Domino records. She also collaborated on the video 'Planet Sizes' which is well worth a watch ( link below ).
Anhematonic from Musicology 2014
Olivia created the accessories label YOKE in 2015. We fell in love with YOKE the moment she showed us and I'm especially enjoying this seasons coloured and white ropes which have gone down a storm!

Todays TWO is by the marvellous duo YUK FUN.
Yuk Fun is a collaboration between Lucy Cheung and Patrick Gildersleeves.
Lucy's Handmade paper collage TWO
They met up north in Leeds studying art & design and moved down south for the sun, sea and sand. They live in Portslade-by-Sea in East Sussex.
Patrick's illustrated TWO
I met Lucy and Patrick while they were selling their wares at a local Festival. The first thing that caught my eye was what Patrick was doodling in his sketch book, it was so captivating watching him effortlessly draw these amusing characters that I had to ask them more about what they did.
A peep into Patricks sketchbook.
They started YUK FUN in 2014 with five T-shirt designs printed in the UK and have since expanded their clothing range to include dresses, cropped-T-shirts and kids T-shirts.
The design above features tropical birds and plants inspired by the wonders of the natural world. The colours on this T-shirt are especially vibrant – almost neon just one of the reasons why we love it!!.The perfect item of clothing for the bird loving all-night dancer.
All of their womens’ clothing is handmade by Lucy ( pictured above) in their home studio. They also make a selection of art prints, coin purses and a variety of bags. Their illustrated designs are unique, colourful and playful, perfect for people with a sense of fun!
We also fell in love with Lucy's Handmade collage prints and cards where she layers textured paper to create such weird and wonderful vibrant characters.

Todays Two is designed by the totally awesome Monstrous pencil aka Galia Pike.
I met the gorgeous Galia when she walked into my shop one day wearing one of her amazing necklaces and her neon 'CRIPES' bag. She and her designs caught my eye straight away and I was well excited when she introduced herself and showed me all the other things that she makes.
Galia loves drawing creatures, monsters and making things. She is also one half of the award winning electronic toy wielding band Psapp where her crayoning hand has sprouted a parallel universe filled with monochromatic cats, imaginary keyboards and friendly monsters that have walked their way onto album covers, T-shirts and animated videos.
Here's her Handmade Fairtrade cotton 'CRIPES' tote bag available at Popsicle.
Galia's Handmade polymer clay and silver plated necklaces just fly out the shop and come in a vast range of colours, shapes and textures.
She’s designed several card ranges and apparently likes running around screaming covered in pastry. ( Her own words!! )
She has just completed a New range of A3 risograph letter prints in neon colours that make us very happy, you can also find these on our shelves at Popsicle.
She has exhibited in Paris and London, founded and run the original making and dancing Craft Night at the Notting Hill Arts Club, run children’s drawing workshops at the ICA, and my illustrations have adorned everything from condom packets for Agnes B to T-shirts for cult design agency Airside.
Galia and her family have just moved to Lewes, East Sussex and once she's settled in will be back on making prints, fonts, jewels and new records. We for one are happy to have her in the hood!!!

Todays TWO design is by the amazing The Printed Peanut.
The Printed Peanut was created by Louise Lockhart who designs beautifully illustrated products for kids and grown-ups.
Louise's unique designs have been applied to a varied selection of products including toys, games, clothes, accessories and pieces for your home. Louise also works as a freelance illustrator and is currently working on her third children's book.
We love her awesome and fun range of soaps, all are 100% natural and made in Yorkshire. The vegan soaps contain only natural ingredients and come packaged in 100% recycled paper printed in the UK, using water based eco-friendly inks.
Louise has now published a few books but my favourite is her concertina book 'Up My Street'. This book is a reminder – and celebration – of the shops that are no longer (or soon to be) existing on the typical high street nowadays like launderettes, ironmongers, groceries etc.
The front side of the concertina book displays a busy high street housing 8 shops, each of which is based on a real-life shop. Once you are done gazing at the detailed and quirky shop fronts, flip the book over and have a look inside where you can meet colourful cast of characters which run them and read some playful poetry too!
Louise is passionate about getting kids to play games with their hands, rather than being glued to screens all the time.
Louise uses beautiful design and packaging to re-work some of the old school traditional games like 'Pass the Parcel' and 'Pin the Tail' in doing so she's helping to keep the classics alive with a creative and modern twist.
